Just another video I subbed with what little free time I have….

Apparently Kampfer is having an anime adaption.What is Kampfer?Girls in school girl uniforms battling each other.Its like Sekirei…only the main character is a mahou shoujo-ish type.HE changes into a magical girl.The main reason I care is that I once considering translating the manga series after I stumbled upon a bunch of raws.Looked interesting but apart from the eye candy,pretty generic IMO.Glad I never found the conviction to do anything.So far 2 chapters of the manga have been translated into english if anybody is interested to check it out.

I on the other hand will be busy working.And my DVD’s for Vandread came today.The problem is I just found out I’m missing 2 dvd’s 20/26 episodes.So I’m back to bargain hunting.But those anime hoarders are charging crazy prices for the final DVD for season 2 I need to complete my collection.Hopefully I’ll find a sneaky way to get it for free.

Apparently I’m dead.Because I’m too bust with my life to keep up with this blog.Or whats left of it.These past few months have been nothing but trouble.

I’m a little happy though because I finally bought the whole Vandread dvd set from Geneon.Its in the mail but I’m gonna marathon it.Its probably going to be the millionth time I’ll be watching it.Apparently the DVDs cost less than my teddy bear now.

I’m also planning to get a job this summer to buy Azumanga Daioh and Chobits….it should cost a hundred bucks or so.I haven’t rewatched this as many times as I would have given how I’m such a big fan of Chiyo-chan

And I’ve decided to start translating To Love-ru on a semi-weekly basis so that my japanese doesn’t get too rusty.I’ll be posting the stuff I do on mangahelpers.com.And finally I’m going to go to Chinatown next week to find cheap junk(maybe).

Oh and I’m thinking of doing a few more of those song subbing thingys on youtube.I found the new Koihime musou shin Opening some sometime back.Hopefully I’ll get some time to write up the lyrics.

Yo…I’ve been busy recently…exams and such in a week and life sucks.So I subbed this video to make myself happier.I used the kanji on the back of the CD to translate it…I did change 1 or 2 words so it sounds more “english-like” since I could see its definitely taylor made for this anime.And apparently this singer debuted this year.Bah ‘m no good with J-Pop news anyway.Enjoy..I’ll be back to regular blogging after a couple of weeks.

Besides being the To Aru Majutsu no Index anime’s ED I like the tune alot for some reason.I thought it was going to be really emo but it turns out she worked some “mana” or spirit energy into the verses..lol

Yo…its been a while I just came back from my mid-terms and I “aced” it (>.<) no really, please let me ace it…ehh so I’m gonna talk about err Toradora!!!! But since I already talk about that in Yukan I’m just gonna focus around the ED and OP songs,sung by Rie Kumigaya and Yui Horie respectively,there was a third person but I forgot…lol

Okay OP…it is good..but it hurts my brain.I’m listening to it in hopes of somehow catching a few phrases and I still fail,epic fail.So I proceeded to skim through the official lyrics at the back of the CD case.I did make out that the theme was “a naive pre-parade”,probably from the characters lining up one after another in a parade like style.But the song mostly centered around Taiga with lines like “I may be small but I won’t lose to anyone,I think” and that “You don’t look that strong to me(pu-re pu-re)someday I’ll catch you(pu-re pu-re)” in the first verse.Bah I’m too lazy to translate any further but you kinda get the picture right?

The ED well was a little easier to understand,the obvious play on words I saw was the “a-ma-ii” which is intended to mean sweet but also can mean “inexperienced” or “naive”.It might be a slang but whatever.So it refers to Taiga’s relative shortcomings at love.Stuttering and not honest with herself and such.”The thing I’m looking for isn’t white but black” is one of the verses which points to this.Compared to the OP it exudes more “humble” language maybe since the lyrics reveal the indecisive side of the singer.You could view the pinch of salt as a seed of doubt in a person heart.Which could point to Taiga and Ryuji’s relationship.Couple or not?Likewise for the OP I’m actually reading off the CD single case where they write down the lyrics =P since I mostly read rather than listen by ear lol.

Ahh now that I think about it…me going away to university next week really does mean that I’m leaving behind my childhood behind even further in the dust…I guess the rantings of Okkusenman would summarize my feelings now.I dunno if it will affect my anime watching…might?Whatever.I do hope to take some elementary japanese classes during summer next year though.And I might just go to AnimeExpo and take pictures of overweight Narutos cosplayers and post them up here so we can have a laugh or two.

By the way,I found the translations of the video to be somewhat accurate(of course some of that bullshit was modified a little to add to the LOL)Enjoy it because its the  “song of my heart”  XD

Hmm alot happened this month…though I doubt any of them were really significant.First off,I have absolutely nothing new to watch besides one piece(catching up on missed episodes).So I’ll just rant about how the current anime I’m watching is going as well as what I did this month.All the otaku related bits of course.

Code Geass…yea that..its shaping up to be one hell of a mess with crazy subplots being introduced every week,all leading up to some big finale.If it ends with Suzaku and Lelouch shooting each other again…>.> Nevertheless,I seem to feel that aura of greatness in the first season waning now that the series is ending(maybe?)Hey,even having heard the English dub a little gave me some laughs but nothing more.Having the english dub of season 2 air right after season 1 ends just confirms that I’m never buying he dvds heh.Why?Somehow I just don’t agree with Lelouch’s english dub voice.So instead of being an ass and complaining,I’ll just not buy their stuff…unless they’re gonna sell me a sub only copy.

And I find t slightly disheartening to learn that my favorite harem of the season,based on possibly the greatest works to chinese literature, Romance of the Three Kingdoms is not getting much attention aside from the drooling fanboys.No I wasn’t drooling too*wipes mouth*.But it certainly changed the perception I had about chinese literature dramatically.Not to mention the OP and ED songs are awesome lol.The art has a hentai-ish style(the video is the hentai game OP and it rules too) and I’m not pissed about it as much as I was when I forced myself to watch the “highly popular” Clannad.Who was that loser flirting with all those girls and not banging them up again?I forgot since I was too blinded by my green eyes.

And I saw that fansub panel discussion at Otakon on ANN,hell I couldn’t stay awake for half the video…since most of the issues are old problems with new ways of paraphrasing them.I was inerested in seeing how fansubbers looked in real life though.Sadly the ones that I did want to see didn’t turn up.I wanted to see how their swearing on irc would look like in real life =P.For me though,I’d like to see something more adventurous done.Like a subscription based TV channel that shows the latest anime straight from japan 24-7..yea keep dreaming.But if my stupid dream to have an anime studio make an anime under me as the director comes true one day I’ll make that my second goal =P

Also I’ve spent alot of time reading and translating raw manga these last few weeks.Not that I know what I’m doing,I’m just hoping that at some point I’ll be able to read things fluently.Strangely..its pretty addicting and I’m starting to aqquire the reading skill similar to a speech impaired 6 year old japanese boy.

I also had some lol’s watching the latest abridged Yu-gi-oh crap spin-off of Cr@psule Monsters.

Ahh and of course about the upcoming fall season….I’ve got nothing to watch…so I’ll probably be watching the spring/summer anime I skipped =/ WAIT….Rosario to Vampire Season 2 might be worth a peek?And of course I’m pretty pumped up for some “Gyabo” etc ^^ from Nodame-san.Meh we’ll see how it goes.

Finally,I’m off to college next month so I’ll probably be inactive AGAIN for a few weeks.I’ll probably be in the library or pissing my counselors off asking them loads of shit.

I know I haven’t posted anything in a while but I’ve been having my hands full with dividing my time between anime and my job(teaching children animals in a school)…which thankfully ends next week as my contract expires.But enough of that,I’ve been behind on alot of the summer anime..so I think I’ll take this chance to just talk about one of the summer anime’s I liked so far.

Koihime Musou.”Unparalleled Dreams of the princesses of love” ,as I think the title means..may sound like a little less appealing to the average viewer including me but after a few episodes it really starts to grow on you.Episode 1 and 2 was nothing praiseworthy but since then its only succeeded in maintaining my interest with random chibi-like scenes and steamy yuri tainted scenes.For some reason the series seems to have some kind of historical premise?At least that’s what I was told or made to believe.While it may seem like a harem….its actually a reverse harem of sorts because of the martial arts theme.Basically no girls are supposed to do these kinda things and those that did had to dress up as males(like Mulan for example),speaking on the subject…there’s supposed to be a trap somewhere along the way if I’m not mistaken.

As for the story so far…its just about a bunch of girls who travel the land while doing good,they get money from working at ancient chinese maid cafes…which isn’t exactly historically accurate lol.But watching this series really brings back memories of watching those hongkong cantonese drama’s back when I was younger.Not much variety in the story once you watched enough of it.But Koihme overcomes this obvious problem by blinding viewers with yuri fanservice,moe-moe characters and throwing in a few odd scenes involving Kannu.

After 5 episodes watched so far,its definitely a solid watch if you’re looking for something light and cute.I’d strongly recommend watching up till episode 3 at least before judging the series for yourself since I’m well aware that its pretty draggy in the beginning when they’re introducing the main characters and such.

I’ll probably do a few more individual reviews of the anime’s I liked this summer…like Xam’d or something…but that depends on whether I have the time to goof off like I’m doing now.
